Fringe Cups

Tellima grandiflora

I’m in year two of my Fringe Cups roll out. I snagged two at TPF last Spring to trial them in full shade on drip, and so far they’ve done pretty well! They get just big enough to survive the leaf drop of the guava tree though they’d probably like it under a pine tree better. This might be a great plant for a shady porch as it seems unfussy, though slow growing. I rolled out another two Fringe Cups and will keep on adding them between the border of the patio and the fence since this is a good, small space, full shade, medium to high water plant. The flower spikes are interesting, though the flowers are quite small. I haven’t seen what pollinates the flower yet so there are still some things to learn about this plant.
